Class of 2034
32 incoming Waldwick kindergarteners posed for this frame-worthy photo before beginning the new (in-person!) school year.

Getting 32 5-year-olds to sit still and smile for a photo is no easy feat, but this group of Waldwick parents nailed it. Kira Yee, a Bergen County realtor and Waldwick mom, organized a picnic at Waldwick Borough Park on July 25 for all of the incoming kindergartners at both elementary schools—the class of 2034—and of course, the cute gathering called for a photo op. “I wanted all the kids and families to have the chance to meet each other before the school year starts,” she tells BERGEN. “It was hard meeting new friends this past year with limited gatherings, so this was a really special time.” Yee’s 5-year-old son, Raphael, pictured in the front row with a bag of Cheetos, and all his new friends smiled thanks to Yee’s husband holding up a T-Rex balloon animal. “He told them all in a dinosaur voice that it was time to smile!” she says. “Some of our incoming kindergartners did not make the photo, but we are happy we got this many.” Can’t wait to see this shot framed at their high school graduation!
