Who among us hasn’t gotten jump-scared by an unexpectedly animated plastic Halloween skeleton? And it’s even easier to get startled at the Ridgewood Halloween houses, known for going all-out with animatronics, inflatables, fog machines and more—as one local dog discovered. Mocha, a 1-year-and-10-months old corgi, accompanied her “parent” Aneri Shah of Little Ferry to visit the houses on a recent October evening. The resulting adventure was captured and posted to Instagram. According to Shah, Mocha was “a little scared, but very curious.” She also adds, “We loved seeing how much effort people put into their decorations! One house even had a walk-through lawn with jump scares. It definitely was the spookiest stop of the night!” Her closing thoughts? “Even though Mocha wasn’t the bravest pup, she made the adventure extra fun. We can’t wait to take her again next year!”
