Athleta opens at Tice’s Corner

The Gap unveils its 14th activewear store, with plans to open 50 nationwide by next year

There’s good news for Bergen County fitness fans: Gap Inc. has opened an Athleta (its activewear brand) store at Tice’s Corner in Woodcliff Lake. The shop features women’s fitness apparel for activities ranging from yoga to hiking—and comfy clothes for running the kids around town. I stopped by the opening party recently and picked up two much-needed tank tops for my all-too-sporadic workouts, and I love the way they fit and feel. The store plans to focus on providing impeccable customer service and offers private shopping appointments with stylists, complimentary hemming on pants and skirts in-store, kiosks that link directly to the website so customers have access to additional products and sizes, and in-store discounts for fitness professionals.

Athleta is also offering free fitness classes (Artie from Ethos Fitness Spa in Midland Park is coming June 24 to teach his infamous Boot Camp class), lunchtime walks, nutrition seminars and other special events (like a Satya Jewelry trunk show on June 23).
