Saving teeth for over 30 years makes NJ Root Canal the go-to practice for patients of all ages. Established in 1990, Dr. Brian Trava, Dr. SuJean Oh, Dr. Alison Petix, Dr. Seung Shon and Dr. James Yang have all received recognition as top doctors in the field of endodontics. The extra two-year specialty degree focuses on root canal specifically, diagnosing pain, tooth trauma and saving teeth that were headed for removal.

NJ Root Canal utilizes 3D imaging, surgical microscopes and research- based techniques to detect extra roots and infections not seen by older traditional methods. With higher success for saving teeth, the ADA estimates an average of $5,000 to replace an extracted tooth. Before that tooth is removed, it doesn’t hurt to get a second written opinion.

The practice has published articles in I.V sedation for Special need patients, 3D imaging and diagnosing complicated dental issues. Dr. Trava has lectured across the country addressing sports trauma in children and the use of stem cell therapy from having premature root canal. Tooth trauma can have long-term complications from an esthetic, financial and legal perspective if not handled properly the very first time.

Born and raised locally, Dr. Trava graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey followed by a two-year post-doctoral degree in Endodontics, while also serving as assistant clinical professor. All our doctors have post-doctoral degrees and many interests. Dr. Shon is an accomplished artist, Dr. Oh has additional awards from Columbia University, Dr. Petix treats many of our Vets and Dr. Yang is a Diplomat of Endodontrics.
