Brimming With Pride

Not even a pandemic can cancel Pride! Ridgewood held a socially distanced Pride celebration on Pride Day, June 28, in Van Neste Square that featured local speakers, LGBTQ allies and performers. Ridgewood native Sam Liu captured this festive photo of Kristen Plumley and Sally Ann Tumas Skoric, two musicians who sang “Lean on Me” in tribute to music legend and Ridgewood native Eugene Thomas, who performed at the village’s Pride event last year. He passed away in April at age 78. “They wore fedoras during the song as a tribute to Jean,” says Liu.
