Celebrate Fall At These 12 Events

Ring in the new season with fun and inspiring activities—there’s something for everyone this autumn.

Crisp air, changing leaves and pumpkin-spiced everything—fall officially arrives on Monday, and with it comes a season packed with can’t-miss events. From weekend festivals and apple picking to outdoor concerts, food trucks and family-friendly fun, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Whether you’re looking to soak up the last warm days or lean into cozy autumn vibes, here’s what’s happening in Bergen County this weekend and beyond:

Sept. 19–21

Saint Nicholas Greek Festival, Wyckoff. Gyros, souvlaki, live music, dancing—all of that and more are offered this weekend at the Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church parking lot. Stop by from noon to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday for the festivities.

Sept. 19

Carl’s Comedy Showcase, Bergenfield. Stop by Tommy Fox’s in Bergenfield at 7 p.m. for a night of laughs. The stand-up comedy lineup includes Helaine Will, Linda Marcus Smith, Carrrrrrrrrrrl and John Griswold.

Sept. 20

Ovarian Cancer Awareness Walk, Paramus. Honor survivors and support those who are battling ovarian cancer. The program takes place from 10 a.m. to noon at Valley Health Plaza and includes music, face painting, animal balloons and more.

4th Annual Men’s Health Fair, Hackensack. Calling all men! The John Theurer Cancer Center and Outreach Department at Hackensack Meridian Health is offering free health screenings (PSA, diabetes, cholesterol and more) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hackensack Recreation Center. Registration is required.

Allendale Festival Day, Allendale. Usher in the new season along Allendale Avenue, which will feature dozens of vendors, exhibits, arts and crafts stations, live music, a kids’ activity zone, food trucks and other amusements. The fun happens from noon to 4 p.m.

Rutherford Day, Rutherford. All Bergen residents are invited to this community event, filled with vendors, live music, kids’ rides and activities as well as a beer garden, farmers’ market and dunk tank. The festivities take place from noon to 5 p.m. at Lincoln Park.

Bergenstock Music Festival, Ridgefield Park. Enjoy the final weekend of summer with a free concert covering a range of genres, including pop, rock and R&B. The show takes place from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Overpeck Park amphitheater and welcomes a variety of acts, including Bergen Community College music professors Andy Krikun and Dan Sheehan with their respective bands. Remember to bring chair and blankets!

Sept. 21

Apple Cider Making, Tenafly. You can buy a jug of cider at a farm or supermarket, or you can make your own. Head to the Tenafly Nature Center, where visitors can learn about apple cultivation and then press their own fruit to make fresh cider. The program is open to all ages, though children must be accompanied by an adult. Two sessions are offered: 2 and 3:30 p.m.

Peace Festival 2025, Teaneck. The sixth annual event commemorates the UN International Day of Peace with live music, cultural dances, stage performances, food, children’s activities and more. The fun takes place from 2 to 6 p.m. at Votee Park.

Fall Equinox Campfire Hike, Tenafly. Return to the Tenafly Nature Center at 6:30 p.m. for an evening hike through the woods, which will be followed by a campfire and s’mores. All children must be accompanied by an adult, and guests are encouraged to dress according to the weather.

Bergen County Fall Harvest Festival, Ridgefield Park, Sept. 26–28. This three-day event at Overpeck Park includes a carnival, food trucks, vendors, exhibits and demonstrations and a petting zoo.

The Baron’s Oktoberfest, River Edge, Sept. 27. Celebrate Major General Baron von Steuben’s birthday at Historic New Bridge Landing with a pumpkin picking and decorating, games and activities, food vendors and beer and wine sampling.
