Celebrate Spring At These 12 Events
Enjoy laughs, music, the great outdoors and more at these activities.

Ah, spring has finally sprung! Now that the new season has arrived, it’s time to get out of the house, enjoy the warming weather and have a little fun with family and friends.
Not sure what to do? Bergen County and the surrounding area have something for everyone this weekend. Below are just a dozen events and activities where you can listen, laugh, play and get a little fresh air:
March 21–23
- The circus is coming to town! Stop by Garden State Plaza in Paramus for opening weekend of the Flip Circus, where acrobats, magicians, jugglers, dancers and more will perform under the big top. Showtimes vary; visit the website for tickets and a full schedule. Can’t make it this weekend? Additional performances take place through April 1.
- The students at Fair Lawn High School will stage their annual spring musical, Mamma Mia!.Multiple shows are available, and tickets can be purchased online.
- Over at Ridgewood High School, the RHS New Players Company will perform its spring musical, Mean Girls. Evening and matinee shows are available, and seats can be reserved online.
March 21–22
- Funnyman Joe Machi stops by Bananas Comedy Club in Rutherford for three shows over two nights. The New York comedy club circuit veteran has performed his routine on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The CBC’s Just For Laughs Gala, among other programs. Tickets are available online.
March 22
- Usher in the new season at Tenafly Nature Center’s Spring Equinox Campfire & Night Hike. Families can enjoy an evening hike around the center’s grounds starting at 6 p.m., which will be followed by a campfire with s’mores. The program takes place outdoors, so dress appropriately. Children under age 2 are free, and strollers can be parked at the center’s patio. Tickets and reservations are available online.
- Immerse yourself in the delicate sounds of Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Pink Floyd, as performed by tribute band The Floyd Pink Band. Floyd Pink: Celebrating the Music of Pink Floyd takes place at 7 p.m. at Rutherford’s Williams Center and features six of the area’s top musicians, each of whom are devoted students of Pink Floyd’s sound. Tickets are available online.
- Head to Debonair Music Hall in Teaneck for the 70th Birthday Revue starring Andy Krikun and Friends. The 7:30 p.m. concert featuring the Bergen Community College music professor is a fundraiser for Musicares LA Fire Relief. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
- Colombian singer and producer Gusi will perform an 8 p.m. concert at the Hackensack Performing Arts Center. The show, part of HACPAC’s PAC the House series, invites audiences to listen to Gusi’s diverse rhythms, which are inspired by Colombian folklore, his father’s musical heritage and his mother’s romanticism. Tickets are available online.
March 23
- Join bird enthusiasts and other nature lovers for a bird walk around the Frank Chapman Trail in Teaneck. Attendees should dress for the weather and bring binoculars to spot some of the brilliant birds. The group will meet at 10 a.m. in the lot on the corner of River Road and Riverview Avenue.
- Celebrate Bergen County’s own The Jonas Brothers at the first-ever JonasCon, taking place from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at American Dream in East Rutherford. Join the Jonas Brothers as they celebrate 20 years of making music. The event includes Jonas-themed games, laser tag, trivia, art, a fan portrait studio, mini golf, escape rooms, karaoke, giveaways, merchandise and more.
- Commemorate Women’s History Month and join others for a Women’s History Celebration at the Bergen Historical Society in River Edge. The program, which takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. at Historic New Bridge Landing, will include a historical presentation by Eliza and Erik Lichack as well as new exhibits, demonstrations, live music and performers. - Can’t get enough of St. Patrick’s Day? Head to nearby Pearl River, N.Y., for the annual Rockland County St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which steps off at 1:30 p.m. and proceeds through downtown Pearl River.
