11 Events To Make Your Summer Shine

Mark your calendar and make the most of the sunny season at these can’t-miss events in our county.

Summer is flying by, but who’s keeping track? Now isn’t the day to peek at a calendar—it’s time to keep the good times rolling.

Here are 11 Bergen County events that’ll make summer feel endless.

July 25

  • Head to the Hackensack Performing Arts Center and soak up the festive vibes of Swing and Soul Night at Atlantic Street Park, part of the Sounds of Summer Concert Series. New York City-based entertainer Lloyd Diamond will pay tribute to James Brown and Sammy Davis Jr. This event is free and starts at 7 p.m.
  • The Classic Albums Live Tribute Show stops by the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood to perform the entirety of Prince’s Purple Rain as you’ve never heard it before. The live performance will be staged by a musical group that’ll play the iconic 1980s album note-for-note and cut-for-cut. The show starts at 8 p.m. Pick up tickets online.
  • It’s not summer in Bergen County until you catch a movie under the stars at Van Saun Park in Paramus. You can watch a free screening of Moana 2 (rated PG) with the whole family; make sure you bring blankets or folding chairs. The movie starts at 8:30 p.m.

July 26–27

  • See American literature come to life when The Adventures of Tom Sawyer takes over the Hermitage in Ho-Ho-Kus. The grounds of the historic mansion will be filled with characters, stories and themes from Mark Twain’s classic tale of friendship, youth and mischief. The Saturday show starts at 7 p.m., and the Sunday performance begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are available online.

July 26

  • Fitness, food and fun—it’s all happening at Foschini Park in Hackensack during F45 Training’s Track Event and BBQ. Challenge yourself with a 45-minute workout and then reward yourself with a delicious barbecue spread. Check in starts at 9 a.m., and the class starts at 10 a.m.
  • Browse local vendors and find your new favorite items and accessories during an Artisan Market at Bergen Town Center in Paramus. More than 25 artisans and vendors will be on hand selling handcrafted jewelry, home décor, handmade gifts and more. The market starts at noon.
  • The Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford hosts its annual Seafood Fest. Dozens of local restaurants and food trucks will be offering the catch of the day and the season’s tastiest treats from the sea. Admission is free. The festivities start at 5 p.m.
  • See some of the world’s best soccer up close when the Premier League Summer Series comes to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. Come watch Manchester United, West Ham United, Everton and AFC Bournemouth compete in this round-robin tournament. Gates open at 2:30 p.m.
  • Enjoy a night of laughs at the Williams Center in Rutherford during the Eyes Up Here Comedy Fest. The show pits some of the most exciting new names in comedy against each other in a friendly and funny competition. This event starts at 8 p.m. and is intended for an 18-and-older crowd.
  • Groove to the sounds of your favorite rock and pop punk anthems, performed by cover band The Memory Pain, at Tommy Fox’s in Bergenfield. The tunes start at 9 p.m.

July 27

  • For more live music, head to Memorial Park in Fair Lawn for a free outdoor concert with Soul Machine. Remember to bring your blankets and chairs, and be ready to party! The music starts at 8 p.m.
