What started as a quiet hike on the trails earlier this month at Saddle River County Park turned into a friendly encounter with waterfowl for Lodi’s Carlos Andres Botero. After spotting a gaggle of Canada geese on the side of the path, Botero inched closer to say hello. “I approached very quietly and calmly so that they didn’t feel like I was a threat,” he tells BERGEN. “They are very intelligent and beautiful animals.” Soon, the curious birds gathered around to exchange greetings. Botero posted this fun photo with the caption “With the pack,” referring to his new flock of friends. For more of what’s going on around Bergen County, follow us on Instagram @bergenmagnj.
