Winter doesn’t officially end until the third week of March, but there’s a group of dedicated souls ready to get into the swing of spring. They might not be sporting short sleeves just yet, but golf enthusiasts will be out and about when all Bergen County golf courses open for the season on March 13.

Tee times on opening day at Darlington (Mahwah), Orchard Hills (Paramus), Rockleigh and Valley Brook (River Vale) begin at 8 a.m. The Fab Four join Overpeck Golf Course, which held winter golf throughout the chilly months.

“It’s a great time of year to play,” says Kevin Ramos, 38, of River Edge. An avid golfer, Ramos admits he “isn’t the best,” but loves “going out, bonding and even networking with others on the course.”
