We all know kids can be the toughest critics, so it’s important the sweet treats we give them are top notch. Ramsey’s Serpouhi Toriguian Vartivarian always pays attention to detail when baking cookies, and she showed off her baking magic while preparing 100 Valentine’s Day cookie kits. This batch, however, was extra special, as they were made to help an Armenian School in New Jersey raise money to support Armenian children in Armenia. “Our eighth graders are traveling to Armenia, and the funds raised [from the cookie sales] will be donated directly to Armenian kids there,” she says. “It’s something very close to my heart.” The kits—from making the dough to baking the cookies to packing them—took Vartivarian four days of after-hours work to make. (She’s a nurse during the day!) “Baking is my coping mechanism, my therapy and my creative outlet after long days of leading, mentoring and caring for others. This was truly a labor of love,” she adds.
