Makeover Challenge Journals Week 3
Patricia & Juliane find that sticking to a work-out routine can be challenging, but it's worth the perseverance

Today was filled with makeover madness!
The day started with our first consultation with dentists, Dr. Romano and Dr. Vaccaro. We felt comfortable immediately. We both had our initial visits, which included panoramic x-rays, measurements, and screenings. Our proposed plans were discussed. The staff and doctors were incredible and I will be taking my four children to see them soon!
Next we enjoyed a great lunch in Morristown at a restaurant suggested to us by Julie Cohen, our nutritionist. The food was amazing, and it was healthy!
After lunch we were off to meet Dr. Rafizadeh. We were both a little unsure of this visit. Plastic or cosmetic surgery is never something we really thought about mainly because of costs. Dr. Rafizadeh talked to us about all of the options that were available to us and ensured us that he would respect whatever decisions we made. This made us immediately comfortable with him. We took photos of our target areas and made an appointment for next week to further discuss our plan of action. Overall this visit was very exciting as we were given an opportunity that we honestly never considered before.
After coming home to make dinner and shop for a birthday present for a party the next day, it was off to the gym for some more cardio. Tonight I logged another 30 minutes.

Today my kids consumed my day! Swim classes and a birthday party followed by my oldest getting a fever and complaining of a sore throat…not a good sign.
Wednesday, May 22
Today started off with dancing school for my 3-year-old. Then, we went for an unscheduled visit to the pediatrician to discover my 6 year old had strep throat. Ugh!
When my husband got home from work it was off to the gym for some cardio. Today cardio seemed to go on forever. I had a picture of my daughter that I use as a bookmark in front of me to help me get through. This makeover challenge is for my mom and me, but it is also for my kids. I want them to see me healthy and for them to realize the importance of exercise and fitness. I want them to learn to eat right and feel strong. I want them to be confident. I was tired, but I pushed myself to do an extra 10 minutes. 40 minutes of cardio tonight!

This morning we went to meet Julie Cohen, our nutritionist. Last week she told us to add and extra serving of green vegetables in our diet for each day. So, she brought us fresh organic kale and gave us some recipes so we would be able to cook it! The hour was filled with lots of info that was both interesting and beneficial to our health.
After the nutritionist, it was off to the gym. I was a little tired today, but I was determined to get in my cardio: 35 minutes!
Saturday, May 25
Started off the weekend at the gym! After 30 minutes of cardio on the elliptical and 30 minutes of a Zumba class (which I love!), I met Maureen for a training session. It was definitely hard getting through the session with Maureen because I was tired from all that cardio, especially my legs!!! Hopefully I can walk tomorrow!
Sunday, May 26
My quads are sore! Going down steps carrying my kids is definitely a challenge! I decided to take a break from the gym today to give my muscles a little time to recuperate!
On a different note, I was just brushing my teeth getting ready for bed and I was thinking how I can't wait to get them whitened!
