Dr. Michael Klotz is one of the rare board-certified prosthodontists in the country. He specializes in implant, aesthetic, and reconstructive dentistry using the most advanced digital dental technology available. Along with his skillful team, Dr. Klotz continuously strives for the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
Using his advanced training and technology, Dr. Klotz’s patients experience quicker, more efficient, and more comfortable visits. His practice incorporates 3D cone beam scans for highly detailed images of the teeth and jaws, 3D printing for the efficient fabrication of dental models and restorations, and 3D intraoral scanning to eliminate uncomfortable impressions. Having an in-office dental laboratory gives Dr Klotz two major advantages. First, he can maintain strict quality control over the restorations. Second, the restorations can often be fabricated in a more-timely fashion.
After earning his Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree (D.M.D) at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey now known as Rutgers School of Dental Medicine), Dr. Klotz went on to study Prosthodontics, the dental specialty pertaining to dental implants, crowns, bridges, veneers, and dentures. He was accepted into a competitive three-year residency program in Prosthodontics at the
University of Connecticut Health Center. During his post-graduate training, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Dental Science (M.Dent.Sc), concentrating his research on the bio-mechanics of dental implants. Dr. Klotz continued his education with a fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center where he cared for the complex needs of patients with head and neck cancer. While at MSKCC, he completed board certification in Prosthodontics, the most demanding and highest honor in the specialty. He has also published in peer-reviewed dental journals, has lectured nationally on various topics in Prosthodontics and implant dentistry, and is active in many local and national dental organizations.
While Dr. Klotz’s practice specializes in prosthodontics, they also take care of the general needs of all patients young and old. “I chose Prosthodontics as a way to help all patients with difficult dental issues as well as satisfy my passion for restoration and reconstruction of complex cases,” says Dr. Klotz. His greatest reward is completing life-changing dentistry and creating long-lasting relationships with his patients, many of whom have been coming to his practice for decades.
