I am still in shock coming off of the weekend! I got the phone call Thursday morning that we were the winners of the Mother/Daughter Makeover contest, and I still can’t believe it! Part of me wanted to call everyone I know and tell them the good news, while the other part of me wanted to go through this journey and see if anyone noticed how different we looked at the end. I wound up calling some of my close friends and telling my co-workers—how could I keep this wonderful news all to myself without exploding? This is the thing you always dream of: a personal trainer to get you in shape, a dentist to change everything you never liked about your smile, a hypnotist to get to the root of the problem and help navigate you to a better life—and those are just the first phone calls I have to make! I am looking forward to every part of this journey and feel like the luckiest woman in New Jersey right now.

I called The Silverstrom Group today to set up an appointment with the dentist to see how he could fix our smiles. I spoke to Alex on the phone, who was so helpful and excited for us that we were the winners. She said the dentists are going to come up with a plan of action for us and that we would be coming in sometime next week to meet the team who would be working with us. I can’t wait to see what they say about my crooked teeth and see if it’s possible to fix them!

I called Advanced Hypnosis Counseling today and spoke to Kathy Lindert. I have no idea what to expect from a hypnotist but speaking with Kathy, even for a short time, was amazing! She was so upbeat and positive that I wished my appointment were tomorrow. Our first visit will be two hours long and although I am not really familiar with how hypnosis works, I am already secretly hoping she will be able to help me with my chronic lateness and procrastination!

Today I called Atlantis Sports Club & Spa to set up a meeting with our trainer. Beth was awesome. She explained her philosophy on working out in great detail. Not only will we be training with her for 45 minutes on Tuesdays, there are also many classes we can take at Atlantis at all times of the day, so there are no excuses not work out! I got my measurements and can already see the spots I can’t wait to improve upon.

I made a few more appointments today, all scheduled for next week. For starters, I called the Urban Muse. I spoke to the owners, as well as Denise Allen (who will be doing our facials), and they were the sweetest, most helpful staff. Again, everyone was congratulating us on winning the contest and they couldn’t have been more accommodating with scheduling and explaining exactly what we were going to be doing over the next several months. First on the agenda is a 75-minute facial next Wednesday to start getting my skin in shape! With a 17-month old son at home, I am really looking forward to that relaxation!

Next, I called Dr. Farhad Rafizadeh’s office for an appointment. He is a plastic surgeon in Morristown. I have absolutely no idea what is in store for me at this appointment, but I can’t wait to find out on April 2! I have never given plastic surgery a whole lot of thought but I am open minded to anything that is going to make me look my old self again!

Next week is going to be a crazy week but I look forward to it with open arms…we are truly blessed to have such an amazing opportunity!
