We love a month that kicks off with a fiesta! Cinco de Mayo, the annual Mexican holiday commemorating that country’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla in 1862, is this coming Tuesday. Over the years, the day has evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage.
How to take part in the festivities? We suggest you start with food, and Bergen’s a great place to do it. El Azteca. This local chain has locations in Park Ridge, Mahwah and Waldwick. The menu is filled with crowd-pleasing favorites, and don’t skip over the catering option if you want to bring an at-home Cinco celebration to life.

El Taco Bar. If you’re craving fast casual and birria tacos, this is a great option. In fact, you’ll have dozens of different tacos to choose from when you come here. Have a sweet tooth? The churros are also fantastic.
