Sharing The Gold
Olympian Hezly Rivera enjoys a triumphant Oradell homecoming—and she shares the glory with all around her.

What’s better than winning Olympic gold? Bringing the cherished medal back home, of course! On Sunday, Oct. 6, Oradell hosted a Family Day and Homecoming Parade for 16-year-old Hezly Rivera, who was part of the gold medal-winning U.S. gymnastics team at the 2024 Olympic Games, rightfully nicknamed the “Golden Girls.” But beyond the music and cheering, there was time for more personal moments. Alan Rivera, Hezly’s cousin, captured one of those moments and posted it to Instagram: The Olympian carefully hung her gold medal around the neck of another one of her young cousins. “It was an amazing honor to have the town of Oradell celebrate Hezly,” says Alan. “Lots of laughs and love with family and friends. The town even declared it ‘Hezly Day.’”
