The Face of Quality Catholic Education for Young Women
Jason Schlereth, President; Kerry Carroll, Principal | Immaculate Heart Academy
Immaculate Heart Academy (IHA) offers more than a quality Catholic education for young women. IHA is a lifetime sisterhood to the 700 high school students who support and encourage one another with respect and kinship for years after they graduate. Founded in 1960, IHA is the first college preparatory regional high school in the Archdiocese of Newark. The faculty and staff focus on developing the talents of IHA’s young women—academically, spiritually, socially and through extracurricular activities—preparing students for a lifetime of positive contributions to themselves and society as a whole.
In addition to competitive athletics and strong arts programs, the school has developed a STEM curriculum to meet the demands of the 21st century and beyond. IHA’s established College Counseling Department assists students at every grade level to navigate the rigorous college admission process and prepare for life after IHA. Including the graduates from the Class of 2021, 10,722 young women proudly call themselves IHA alumnae.
