The Face of the All-Girl Advantage
The Academy of the Holy Angels

Get “The All-Girl Advantage” early at the Academy of the Holy Angels middle school! This year, AHA became the only area school to offer an all-girl education that extends from Grade 6 through high school. The All-Girl Advantage provides young women with a world of aspiration, exploration, and innovation. AHA fosters confident, self-reliant women who learn to lead, actively participate from the college classroom to the executive boardroom, and are closing the gender gap in many fields, including STEM careers. According to the National Coalition of Girls’ Schools, students at all-girls’ schools are more likely to study math and chemistry, explore unfamiliar subjects, and say “yes” to challenges. Tailor-made programs for young women, including AHA’s bespoke critical thinking course at Oxford University, improve students’ self-esteem. Women mentors and peer role models show Angels what’s possible. The School Sisters of Notre Dame, pioneers in all-girl education, established AHA in 1879. Then and now, AHA encourages each student to reach the fullness of her potential and share her unique gifts. The AHA education focuses on academics, character, integrity, and service. While Holy Angels is steeped in Catholic tradition, the Academy serves young women from various backgrounds.
