Treat Mom To The Brunch She Deserves

If your favorite restaurant is booked for Mother’s Day brunch, you can find a seat—and a delicious meal—at these great Bergen eateries.

Surprising Mom with breakfast in bed sounds like a great Mother’s Day plan, but doing so is easier said than done—especially if you’re not a pro in the kitchen. Mom deserves the very best, so why risk serving her undercooked eggs and burnt pancakes when you can take her out for a perfect brunch in Bergen County?

Of course, Mother’s Day (this Sunday, in case you forgot!) is one of the busiest brunch days of the year, and tables at the county’s hot spots are mostly booked already. But you can try your luck at popular restaurants like Café Panache in Ramsey, Felina and White Maple Café in Ridgewood, Haven in Edgewater, The Hill in Closter, Ho-Ho-Kus Inn, Ivy Inn in Hasbrouck Heights, Saddle River Inn and Willow & Whisk in Wyckoff.

There’s good news if you get shut out at those eateries: Bergen has many other restaurants that dish out amazing breakfast and lunch items—and you don’t need reservations to score a seat at many of them! (Customers are seated on a first come first serve basis, so it’s still wise to arrive early.) Below is a list of some of our other favorite brunch locations:

Allendale Mediterranean Grill, Allendale. An assortment of sandwiches and platters are available here for breakfast and lunch, including the Hasher (corned beef hash, scrambled eggs and cheese in a wrap or sandwich).

Candlewyck Diner, East Rutherford. Bergen has dozens of diners, but the menu at this South Bergen eatery is second to none. Locally sourced ingredients go into their diner classics and menu specials, from the breakfast bennys to the triple decker sandwiches for lunch.
