It’s always sad to see a long-time business close, but we’re always excited to welcome a new face to the neighborhood. Store owners and proprietors know Bergen County residents support local businesses, a good reason why many are quick to move in and share their goods, services and food with us. How lucky for us shoppers!

Below are three recently opened businesses that are quickly gaining fans and followers. We can’t wait to try them ourselves!

&pizza, Paramus. New Jerseyans know pizza, and many of us have a taste for the fast-casual style that’s been quickly popping up in our area. &pizza is the latest, bringing their oval-shaped artisan pies to Paramus. The shop opened last week, offering basic cheese pies and specialty options—for instance, the jalapeño- and Buffalo sauce-topped “Dirty Bird” is a must-try.

Cake Portraits Bakery, Teaneck. Don’t feel badly when you take a big bite out of the beautiful pastries, cheesecakes and other desserts at this new bakery, which opened last weekend. The homemade, highly Instagrammable sweets are meant to be eaten and enjoyed—just take a quick photo first!

Maple Barber Shop, Waldwick. Guys, you can enjoy a salon day too! This full service barber shop celebrated its official ribbon-cutting on Wednesday, inviting men of all ages for haircuts, fades, beard and shampoo service and hot towel shaves.
