Donate To These Winter Coat Drives
Before the weather outside gets frightful, give the gift of warmth to Bergen neighbors in need.

Though winter hasn’t officially started, you might’ve already worn a parka or wool jacket this season. It’s essential to have something warm to throw on when heading outside this time of year.
Unfortunately, not everyone has that opportunity. There are thousands of residents, including many families in Bergen County, who don’t have access to a winter coat and rely on donations to stay warm during the cold months.
Between scoping out sales and checking off everyone on your shopping list, remember ’tis the season for charity and giving back to others. If you have the resources, consider donating a new or gently used winter coat to an upcoming coat drive. Below are some drop-off locations:
The Community Chest of Eastern Bergen County, now through Feb. 7. Coats, scarves, hats, gloves and more will go to the Women’s Rights Information Center and benefit local families in need. Drop-location is Englewood Field Club.
Fourth Annual LJC III Coat Drive. Too cold to leave the house? Schedule a donation pickup with Bergen resident Leo John Czekalski III, who has been collecting warm coats for donation centers for four years. Simply fill out the form to schedule a pickup.
Maywood Rotary Coat Drive, now through Dec. 8. Coats are donated to local veterans and their families. Drop-off locations are the UPS Store and Provident Bank in Maywood, and the Lands’ End store inside Bergen Town Center.
Sacred Heart 2842 Coat Drive, now through Dec. 21. The Rochelle Park Knights of Columbus is once again collecting donations of men’s and women’s coats and outerwear for families in need. Drop-off location is the Knights of Columbus in Rochelle Park.
The Salvation Army Coats for Kids. Though widely known for its Red Kettle holiday campaign, this organization also accepts new and gently used coats to distribute to families who cannot afford proper winter attire. Stop by their multiple drop-off locations.
